Sound Transit (ST), which carries over 43 million passengers a year in the Seattle-Tacoma counties of King, Pierce and Snohomish on its “Link” light rail, “Sounder” commuter rail, and “ST Express” bus services, is looking to recruit specialized engineering talent to help it address extraordinary system expansion and regional growth.
In 2016, Seattle was named the fastest-growing major U.S. city for the third year in a row, with a 3.1% annual growth rate. ST’s 25-year strategic plans, made possible by a series of voter approved ballot measures, continue to meet that growth by improving existing services and expanding the system’s reach.
As part of that effort, ST is standing up a new Operations Engineering and Technology Division to better manage all its operational technology platforms. The new Division will design, maintain, integrate, coordinate and manage its SCADA, Passenger Information, Security, PTC, Data Center and Radio technologies to help achieve that goal.
