Define the Past Problem History Roadmap and lead a cross-functional team within SDT ensuring applicable issues are closed before first customer part requirement.
Develop the Prototype, Pre Production and Production Control Plans for the program.
Develop the Measurement System Analysis Plan for the program. Responsible to ensure variable and attribute Gage studies are conducted on all gauging and improve Gage R&R where data indicates need.
Responsible for implementation of the Manufacturing Quality Systems for the prototype, pre-production, and production builds as defined in BOS and/or specified on the Production Control Plan.
Responsible for completion of inspection reports for components that are used for pre-production product builds.
Perform capability studies and document the results for all program special characteristics ensuring that Customer and internal requirements are met.
Responsible for color/appearance approval from pre-grain to PPAP, including proper Customer submission paperwork.
Responsible to coordinate the preparation and on-time delivery of PPAP packages for submission and approval by the Customer.
Responsible to coordinate with the SAQE the preparation and on time delivery of supplier quality deliverables including: Control Plans, Capability Plans, Capability Studies, Part layouts, Gage design, Gage R&R, PFMEA, and DFMEA.
Utilize all applicable Customer-specific systems.
Ensure appropriate statistical methods are utilized throughout the Product and Process Development process and deployed into the Control Plan.
Responsible for completion of all other Customer-specific Advance Quality requirements.
Ensure Customer, internal, and supplier quality issues are resolved using problem solving methods.
Develop appropriate inspection and containment plans for pre-launch builds.
Perform job functions in accordance with set policies and procedures to ensure preservation of the Company Ethics and Quality Policy.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required in a technical area (or equivalent experience).
Specific education and training in Quality disciplines is required, including (minimum): ISO/TS16949, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC.
Candidates must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance.
Quality systems auditor training is preferred.
Candidates may have these requirement waived only by the Advanced Quality Manager (or equivalent).
Advanced Quality planning including familiarity with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan standard, FMEA’s, PPAPs, Dimensional layouts, gage/fixture design, and Performance/Material testing.
Statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem solving methodology.
Manufacturing Quality system experience in ISO/TS 16949 and customer systems.
Customer communication activities.
Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt is desirable.
Professional Certification in Quality Engineering is desirable. (Requirements may be waived only by Director or Advance Quality Manager based upon documented work experience.)
