The Project Manager II is an experienced professional engineer who can define a project, develop a set of tasks to accomplish the project, coordinate and monitor the work involved in the tasks, and deliver a final product on time and within prescribed budget.
Reports to the Division Manager or Vice President of Operations.
The Project Manager has multiple project oversight and is responsible for engineering design, resource scheduling, invoicing, client relations, quality assurance oversight, budgeting and scheduling, technical direction, and construction management.
Responsible for client relations
Has overall responsibility for the profitability of projects
Responsible for control of work-in-progress, ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on his/her projects
Responsible for project engineering activities and productivity
All aspects of engineering analysis and design
Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules
Prepare and enforce communications, risk management, and change order plans
Monitor and address slope creep
Monitor and address rework
Serves as project manager or senior project engineer on complex projects and as a designated client contact
Coordinate and approve pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed project
Develop engineering agreements for his/her projects within the department
Prepare forecast of workload for assigned staff
Develop probable construction cost estimates for his/her projects within the department
Attend client meetings - days or nights
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design project
Direct and supervise other engineer's activities
Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies and designs for project
Visit construction site to monitor progress and other duties per contract documents
Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
Licensing/Registration/Certification Required: Professional Engineer
