The quality manager will participate in the management of the quality system to ensure customer satisfaction while improving process measurables. The quality manager will work closely with all departments to ensure continuous improvement and conformity to customer requirements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Quality function in Jackson facility
o Prioritize layout work load
o Direct final and in process inspection activities
o Ensure accurate Design of Experiments, Capability Studies, Gage R&R, etc.
o Ensure customer quality issues are resolved through plant staff in a timely manner.
o Report on Quality Performance data during scheduled management reviews.
Provide department leadership which supports strategic initiativeso Create a culture which promotes a team environmento Conduct and review Performance Appraisal/Evaluations and manage performance issues for direct reportso Determine staffing levelso Act as role model
o Recognize and reward excellence
Identify high potential employees for career advancement and/or succession planning
o Address employee relations issues in a timely manner
o Guide and motivate leads to achieve the goals and objectives of the department
o Provide mentoring and coaching for department
Adhere to TS16949 standardso Ensure adherence to procedures throughout plant
o Develop/revise Operating Procedures/Work Instructions as needed
Perform other duties as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
4 year bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
5+ years of experience
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
Good communication, mechanical and analytical skills needed
Basic math and blueprint reading skills required
Knowledge of machine shop and GD&T
Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions
Ability to write simple and complex procedures
Ability to effectively present information to employees and customers Working Conditions
The Quality Manager will reside in the office and on the production floor. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.
