Reports to: Executive Director Department: WQRF
Description: This position is responsible for reviewing industry needs for research to prepare forward looking research agenda for the Water Quality Research Foundation (WQRF). The WQRF Research Project Leader is also responsible for promoting the Foundation’s research competency, findings and key achievements.
Work with industry members and foundation contributors to determine research needs.
Leads projects for WQRF research activities including milestone management, status tracking, project flow, information gathering, maintenance, and other lead aspects, as assigned.
Continuously seek out internal and external research opportunities that fit the needs of the industry’s strategic directives.
Assist the Technical Affairs Director in vetting projects through appropriate industry task forces and committees leading up to funding approval.
Manage specific research task forces after funding approval.
Present the research opportunities to applicable committees and boards to assess fit to strategic directives and the overall research agenda.
Assist the WQRF Development Manager in the development of communication strategies for final results.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s in a Physical Chemistry discipline: Bio-Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or similar, required.
Experience in the water treatment industry is preferred.
Candidate should have a CWS status or the aptitude to achieve status within 1 year of hire.
Previous record of creating and maintaining a research agenda.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Efficient time and project management skills.
Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
