Taylor Engineering, Inc. seeks to hire a team-oriented and production-focused Water Resources Engineer or Geologist for our Tampa, Florida office.
The position requires a strong background in water resources engineering and/or hydrogeology, solid project management skills, and experience teaming with clients and senior level managers.
The engineer or geologist will support the organization as necessary to accomplish the mission through assisting with tasks such as the following.
Surface water modeling
Ground water modeling
Water resources investigations
Integrated groundwater/surface water modeling
Prepare letters, technical reports, figures, and tables
Prepare technical submittals
Interact and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including subcontractors
Assist in work activities and communicate with various municipality, utility, and government regulating agencies
Perform occasional field work
Other miscellaneous tasks assigned by project managers
A well-qualified candidate will possess the following.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related water resources discipline
A Florida Professional Engineer/Professional Geologist license or the ability to obtain one within one year
A minimum of 4 years of water resource engineering experience
Demonstrable understanding of hydrologic principals, theories, and concepts plus advanced knowledge of hydraulics, storm water management, water quality, and other related disciplines
Knowledge of the measurements, QA analysis, modeling, and reporting of hydrologic and hydrometeorologic data
Knowledge of hydrologic principles and the hydrologic cycle, including evapotranspiration, precipitation, runoff, streamflow, soil moisture, ground water flow, and surface water/ground water interactions
Experience with surface water, groundwater, and integrated modeling codes such as MIKE SHE, MIKE-11, HEC-RAS, MODFLOW, ICPR, SWMM, FEFLOW, and HSPF
Advanced proficiency in GIS analysis including the use of ArcHydro tools
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Possess team leadership potential, technical capabilities, and strong aptitude
