The San Mateo County Transit District seeks a Manager, Project Controls who will be responsible for evaluating capital project cost and progress for the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain). The Manager will develop and manage project controls including schedule, cost, change, and document control, assist with the development of capital project budget and schedule, and oversee the evaluation of capital project progress.
S/he will oversee the development and maintenance of project control deliverables such as cash flow predictions, cost control reports, and time-phased budget. S/he will also be responsible for forecasting estimate-at-completion cost, analyzing project earned value performance data, and the development of project schedule recovery plans; monitoring, tracking, and reporting progress of all active capital projects on a monthly and quarterly basis; maintaining a project control software system, and integrating data from other applications or systems to track project progress; developing and tracking key project performance indicators, including setting up project work breakdown structures, project baseline budgets and schedules, project trends and change orders; overseeing the maintenance and integrity of project documents; and evaluating job performance of staff which also includes the professional development of staff through the identification of on-the-job and other professional development opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in civil engineering, construction management or equivalent field with five (5) years project control experience in engineering and/or construction management, plus two (2) years of managerial experience. Project Management Professional certification is desirable. Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
