The Department of Biology offers BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology, MPhil, and PhD degrees in Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences. The Department places a strong emphasis on both quality education and scholarly research/services.
Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (PR225/16-17)
The Department is seeking a candidate with a demonstrated record of outstanding research publications and teaching credentials in the areas of computational biology/bioinformatics/systems biology. The appointee is expected to develop strong externally-funded research programmes and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Applicants must have a PhD degree or equivalent qualification and postdoctoral training in the related fields. Preference will be given to candidates with strong track records of publications in high impact journals on analysis and reconstruction of metabolic networks and epigenetic and transcriptional regulatory networks. Candidates for the senior positions should have strong track records of research and teaching accomplishments.
This is a tenure-track position. Initial appointment will be made on fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
