Description: : In the College of Engineering, we are embarking on a large-scale, multi-disciplinary hiring effort for approximately 50 new faculty members in the areas of Big Data Analytics, Biomedical Innovations, and Sustainability.
We invite you to apply for a tenured/tenure-track position in one of several areas within Big Data Analytics at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level starting August 15, 2017. Depending on your disciplinary background, you may be offered a joint position with another college/school, in an area such as Public Policy, Statistics, Business, Economics, or Architectural Studies. To be successful, you should have research expertise in:
- transportation systems:
- predictive traffic analytics
- intelligent transportation systems
- connected and autonomous vehicles
- freight modeling, travel demand modeling
- virtual reality and multi-modal simulators, or
- infrastructure sensing and management:
- next-generation infrastructure and environmental sensing
- civil engineering system informatics and cyber physical systems
- resilient infrastructure systems
- infrastructure health monitoring.
Successful candidates will be expected:
- to become leaders in their field
- to build an externally funded research program
- to successfully mentor graduate students
- to develop and teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in these areas.
Qualifications: Applicants should have an earned doctorate in engineering with an emphasis in transportation or infrastructure; strong written and oral communication skills; and have a publication record in nationally recognized journals. Those with relevant postdoctoral experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
