Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is seeking to fill a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for the 2017-18 academic year. A doctorate or near completion in the transportation engineering sub-discipline or master’s degree with comparable experience is required. Industry experience in engineering practice or a PE license is preferred. Successful candidates will be prepared to teach our required sophomore-level transportation engineering course, plus several elective courses in the area of transportation engineering. Candidates should also be prepared to discuss the teaching of several other courses in civil engineering outside their immediate expertise. Other essential job responsibilities may include student advising and service to the department, institute and professional community. Additionally, the curriculum allows for elective choices that can provide educational breadth in the various important areas of Civil Engineering. A senior level capstone design course highlights the academic experience and provides an awareness of the role of engineering in solving the complex technological and social problems of the environment and social/political world.
