SLR International Corporation is seeking an Entry Level Traffic-Transportation Planner/Engineer to serve as a valuable member of our multi-disciplinary team. The position will initially be in our New Haven, CT office, with possible future relocation to other SLR offices likely in the Northeast. The candidate will be responsible for the preparation of traffic/transportation planning and engineering studies, reports and plans, and may assist in preliminary design efforts. The right candidate will learn and work on a wide range of projects including traffic analyses, roadway/traffic safety assessments, multi-modal planning/design projects, parking planning, and TDM studies. You will work with our multi-disciplinary team of transportation planners and engineers, environmental professionals, planners, civil engineers, and landscape architects/designers.
This position has great potential for growth. The ability to move safely and freely through a multitude of transportation modes, with equitable access, will increasingly be critical to the functioning of society as we migrate to more environmentally friendly modes of travel. The person who fills this position will have the ability to help SLR lead in the rapidly changing field of transportation. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Planning with exposure to Transportation/Traffic Engineering • 0-2 years of professional experience • Familiarity with some or all of the following software: HCS, SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, VISSIM, CADD, GIS • Desire to be on the forefront of the evolving transportation planning/engineering field • Familiarity with emerging best-practices/guidelines in transportation • Good verbal and written communication skills • Valid driver’s license
