Montgomery & Associates (M&A) is seeking a senior-level water resources professional with strong skills in technical analysis, organization and reporting to support the growth of our dynamic Perú office, located in the Miraflores district of the Lima metropolitan area. The successful candidate will join a small experienced group of professional hydrogeological consultants. A strong sense of teamwork, ethics and flexibility is important to this position.
The desired candidate will have experience in the technical aspects of mine water resource projects, including water supply, dewatering, hydrogeological characterization, and permitting. Preference will be given to candidates with additional skills in mine water balance, geochemistry, geophysics, groundwater modeling, GIS, and surface water hydrology. Fluency in Spanish and English (reading, writing, and/or speaking) is desired. Some travel will be required to mine locations at altitude.
In general, the successful candidate will be expected to lead or participate in:
Preparation of proposals and budgets
Project scheduling and scoping
Project and staff management, including implementation of quality control procedures
Data management, interpretation, and analysis
Report preparation for characterization and feasibility studies
Mentoring of junior staff
M&A is an Arizona-based, international consulting firm with a 30-year history of providing quality hydrogeologic and water resources services. We are a mid-sized, employee-owned company with offices in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and California, and Perú and Chile. We work collaboratively across our U.S. and international offices. Our Lima office opened in 2011 and has a staff of eight.
Preferred qualifications include an M.S. in hydrogeology, geology, or engineering and at least 15 years of relevant experience; including experience in the mining industry, with preference given to South American work. The candidate should possess a demonstrated ability to successfully balance project analytics, reporting, proposal preparation, and staff mentorship/management.
