Gallagher CRS is seeking a Marine Construction-specific Estimator to join a fantastic and stable general contractor. This position will be responsible for large, design-build marine-specific heavy civil construction jobs; knowledge on bridge and underground concrete structures, large piers, wharf's, shoreline restoration, dredging and pile driving is required.
The Marine Estimator must have a minimum of five (5) years of marine estimating experience.
Marine Estimator Job Duties
Obtain quotes for materials and subcontractor involvement to meet project requirements.
Analyzes, comprehends and combines past projects data to determine proper equipment and labor requirements and production costs.
Assesses risk factors and determines any potential costs and contingencies for bidding purposes.
Present bid and proposal details with senior management prior to bid submission.
Partner with project owner and provide proper bid documentation, close-out process and submission information.
Collaborates with design teams to generate plans and technical proposal details needed to create accurate cost estimates and compliant proposals.
Participates with joint venture partners in bid preparation and bid review as both lead and secondary partner.
Attends cost review meetings for existing projects to ensure continuity from estimating through construction.
Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.
Identifies cost trends to aid management in cost reduction and process improvement.
Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
Minimum of 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Reads, analyzes, and interprets owner project technical specifications, general standard specifications, construction plans and government regulations.
Knowledge of HCSS or similar estimating software system. Strong working knowledge of MS-Office e-mail, text and other electronic forms of communication is to be expected.
Travel -Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
