Woolpert is seeking a Project Engineer Wastewater/Stormwater for our Water Resources Group in our Chesapeake, VA office. The ideal candidate must have experience in wastewater collection design and analysis.
Primary duties of the project engineer, in which prior experience is strongly desired, include wastewater collection design and analysis.
Preparing and supervising the preparation of construction drawings (in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) and cost estimates.
Managing project scope, budget, and quality control processes.
Candidate will have a supporting role in stormwater design, water distribution design, and hydraulic modeling.
Other duties, as assigned, may include supporting NPDES stormwater program compliance projects, and oil/gas pad and pipeline projects (candidate does not need prior experience with these tasks).
Candidates will have a BS in Civil, Biosystems, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineering and at least 4 to 8 years’ experience in wastewater collection and stormwater, design.
Qualified candidates will also be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the Commonwealth of Virginia or able to complete Virginia reciprocity process within two months of start date.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ESRI ArcGIS software is strongly desired.
Strongly desired for the candidate to have experience with stormwater and/or water distribution design.
Strongly desired for the candidate to have experience operating hydraulic modeling software such as SWMM, ICPR, WaterCAD/ WaterGEMS.
It is a plus for the candidate to be experienced in the local Hampton Roads marketplace and active with professional organizations and local groups.
