Reports to: Facilities Assessment Manager Department: Product Certification
Description: The Facilities Assessor role is responsible for scheduling, planning and performing initial and surveillance quality audits for WQA customers seeking various types of product and process certifications.
Work with the Business Development and Product Certification Departments to initiate audits for new customers.
Responsible for scheduling initial and annual quality audits with the customer’s timelines.
Prepare the audit documentation, using the facility assessment plan for all client visits, distribute information to clients and manage audit communications process.
Visit the customer location and work with client’s internal quality team to quickly understand the manufacturing processes, documented procedures and products for the purpose of conducting quality control evaluations.
Conduct review of product process design to determine if modifications have been made to products since the last audit.
Prepare audit reports and checklists which capture non-conformances, evaluations and provide recommendations for quality improvements. Communicate findings internally and externally.
Maintain and update internal database and reports regarding facility assessments.
Bachelor’s Degree, required.
Two to four years of business experience working with Quality Management Systems
Strong project management skills.
Experience with ISO/IEC 17020 and/or ISO 9001, preferred
Experience with understanding Quality Management Systems and/or Internal Audits preferred
Strong customer service and meeting management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Computer Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems.
Ability to make quick and independent decisions, works well as team member as well as individuals
