The Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks candidates with expertise in Aerospace Engineering, including aerospace systems/controls, unmanned aerial vehicles, aerospace propulsion, or aerospace thermal/fluids sciences. Candidates must have a proven record of externally funded and nationally or internationally recognized research, experience providing outstanding professional and academic service and leadership, significant experience in student education and engagement, and qualifications consistent with the Associate or Full Professor rank. Successful candidates will teach existing and develop new innovative undergraduate and graduate courses in aerospace engineering topics.
Required Qualifications A Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related engineering field.

Mechanical Engineering is one of five departments in the College of Engineering. It has recently grown to 19 tenured and tenure-track faculty positions, 3.5 lecturers, and 1 research faculty member. The Department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering, is ABET accredited, and has approximately 800 undergraduate and 40 graduate students. It places emphasis on providing quality educational programs, winning nationally competitive grants, publishing research in high-impact peer-reviews journals, growing its doctoral program, enhancing collaboration with industry, and providing national professional service.
