The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Controls Technologist will be responsible for supporting the SCADA Applications Manager in the functionality of AlexRenew’s SCADA system and other applications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, maintenance and execution of and periodic updates to the SCADA Master Plan, which includes standards for design, performance, security, and reliability.
Perform maintenance, repair, and improvement of the SCADA system, as well as other applications, including hardware and software modifications. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve equipment and other problems to ensure continuous operation.
Create and maintain preventive maintenance plans and procedures to monitor and assess SCADA system and other application performance.
Manage and document all PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human Machine Interface) software control logic strategy, programming, and revisions.
Provide maintenance support for other enterprise applications through programming, system integration, and analytics.
Serve as the lead for all disaster recovery activities related to SCADA and associated equipment.
Providing training to department personnel on the design, operations, and maintenance of the SCADA system (including PLCs, HMI, Historian) and other applications.
Experience in PLC install, repair, troubleshooting; circuit troubleshooting and repair; power monitor troubleshooting and repair; variable frequency drive configuration.
Understand and comply with all accepted change control procedures.
Actively promotes safe behaviors and health awareness at all times in the execution of daily tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree or trade school education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering or Information Technology or related field; Bachelor’s degree desired.
Five (5) years of progressive experience in at least one (1) or more of the following industrial application settings: Water/Wastewater, Automotive, Electric Power, Industrial or Commercial Drive Systems industries preferred.
Experience in utilizing Allen Bradley PLC’s desired.
Ability to prepare technical and non-technical documents.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Ability to understand and comply with applicable federal, state and local regulatory agency reporting and documentation requirements.
Journeyman Electrical License preferred or ability to obtain within five years.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Access).
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex problems.
