Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Principal or Senior Water Resources Engineer with experience as a seller / doer required to expand water resources and stormwater market for Oregon and Washington offices. The position may be located in our Puget Sound or Portland offices.
Duties include business development, technical expertise, mentorship and project management. Typical primary project types include industrial and municipal stormwater management including low impact development and green infrastructure design, stream channel rehabilitation and restoration, and design of fish passage, as well as hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality modelling.

This position will report directly to a Principal Engineer or local Office Manager, and be involved with leadership of the water resources engineering service line. A primary responsibility will be business development for government and private sector clients including identification of prospects, pursuit strategy and implementation, proposal development and marketing activities associated with regional water resources projects. This positions key responsibility will be developing future business and supporting local engineering.
Providing senior leadership / mentoring to, engineers and technicians and directly oversee and manage engineering projects
Participating in local, regional and national civil engineering related organizations
Serving as subject matter technical expert on specific tasks or projects
Compiling and presenting results of planning and engineering studies
Preparing and reviewing interim and completed project reports
Conveying project results and findings by means of oral discussions, presentations and project documentation
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or other directly related field
Licensed Professional Engineer registration in Washington and / or Oregon
Minimum 10+ years related environmental experience
Recent experience completing Fish Passage Culvert Replacements in Western Washington
Design experience with fish passable structures, culvert design, stream grading, natural habitat features, stream or river embankment stabilization, floodplain analysis, zero rise analysis, scour analysis, and backwater analysis
Experience with hydraulic modelling for stream channels and geomorphology
Previous consulting experience required.
Demonstrated experience and ability in business development.
Existing portfolio of clients preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with, mentor and direct staff level engineers and technicians
Exhibit ability to track and meet budgets and schedules
