Hardesty & Hanover is offering an exciting opportunity for a Traffic Engineer in the growing Traffic Department in Westchester County. The successful candidate will provide traffic analysis, traffic signal and highway/intersection lighting design capabilities, and assistance with design efforts for the Transportation group.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Expertise in the design of traffic signals and intersection/highway
Perform intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic software and prepare traffic impact
Assist in the review of traffic impact studies and site
Experience with traffic calming, bike/ped safety studies a plus
Provide support to local and regional offices within the
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
PE certification required, PTOE/PTP certification a
5-10 years minimum experience in traffic analysis, traffic signal design, lighting analysis and design, signing and striping
Experience with NYSDOT, and Local Municipality Standards and Traffic Signal CADD
Knowledge of MUTCD Standards and ITE Trip Generation and Parking Generation
Proficient in Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, Visual Lighting
AutoCAD and MicroStation V8i
Ability to create professional deliverables using client
Ability to attend off site meetings after hours.
Excellent verbal and written communication
