Areté Associates, an employee-owned company, is a growing research and development firm recognized for contributing to national security objectives by supplying innovative solutions to challenging technical problems faced by the United States. We have an immediate opening for a Engineer 2, Quality Assurance professional. This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position which can reside in our Longmont, CO. Summary: Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for development acceptance criteria (parameters based on product result). May undertake root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action. Ensures that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.
Primary responsibilities: · Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback · Assist with the development of software and hardware for our laser production facility · Monitor & participate in the development of software products and the build of deliverable laser hardware created by our design and programming team · Monitor debugging process results · Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions · Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts, Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs · Witness and verify thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved · Monitor and review quarterly supplier data · Review and process all incoming material company procedures · Provide quarterly inspection data and quality assurance reports to senior management · Institute development protocols for validation plans · Participate in all QA meetings, Provide software engineers with necessary analysis tools and data · Create and document inspection plans for incoming material and in process assemblies · Provide software engineers with necessary analysis tools and data Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Software Engineering or related field with 3+ years’ experience in quality assurance; 2+ years’ experience in electronics manufacturing environment; 1+ years’ experience in software industry a plus · Excellent computer literacy · Understanding of QA process for software development, debugging and release · Ability to objectively review and qualify objective data · Proven track record of project management success · Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
