The Department of Construction Management at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, as early as the Spring of 2020. Primary responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, student recruitment, curriculum and laboratory development, scholarly activities, service, and establishing strong relationships with the construction industry. The CM program is accredited by ACCE. The applicants will teach lectures and labs in the CM department. The candidates must be able to teach Materials Testing and Quality Control (both lecture content and physical lab) and at least one of the following courses: Building Construction, Surveying, Construction Graphics (including Revit), and Building Systems. The candidates must demonstrate their proficiency and ability to teach these subject areas; and be able to develop interdisciplinary, project-based courses.

The Department currently has 12 full-time faculty and 7 part-time/adjunct faculty members as of the Fall 2019 semester. Additionally to the CM degree the department offers a concentration in Facilities Management and Real Estate.
Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field as well as at least three years of industry experience preferably in building construction is acceptable. An earned doctorate in construction management or closely related field is preferred. The candidate will be required to obtain a certificate or license (CCM, PE or CPC) within two years of employment. Teaching experience at the university level is required as well as a willingness to engage in distance learning activities. Substantial experience in the industry and demonstrated ability to teach may be substituted for full time teaching experience at the university level. Strong interpersonal communication skills as well as solid computer skills are necessary.
