The City of Overland Park has a full-time Planner I/II position available in the Current Planning Division of the Planning & Development Services Department. Responsibilities: Reviews and analyzes development proposals, prepares staff comments and provides staff support for various review bodies. Responds to Zoning and Development inquiries from staff and the general public. Participates on the Plan Review Committee. May review traffic studies. Serves as Planner of the Day. Traffic and transportation review experience desired.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in planning, landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, civil engineering, traffic engineering, or a related field. Planner I: Six months to one year of experience in municipal planning. Planner II: Three years of experience in current planning or as a generalist planner, or an equivalent level of experience. No City residency requirement. Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen and physical exam. 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Mon-Fri. $4,466-$6,890/mo. Open until filled.
