Civil Engineering - Land Development and UAS Services
The primary function of this position is to execute plan production for land development and UAS mapping projects. Candidate will be responsible for performing engineering design project management and coordination activities, for a wide variety of projects. Candidate will also perform field data collections using UAS platforms, including: fixed-wing, multi-rotor, and a LiDAR helicopter. WCE will provide in-house UAS pilot training.
Responsibilities and Duties
Plan production, including: the preparation of grading, drainage, street, sanitary sewer, water and storm sewer improvement plans for residential and commercial developments, and public works projects, while adhering to design standards, agency review and approval process.
Must have strong technical knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures relating to engineering design for land development projects.
Organizes and conducts engineering investigations and planning work which have a well-defined scope.
Adhere to project Scope of Services and budget, and complete projects on time and within budget.
Prepares miscellaneous reports, including: drainage, irrigation design, water and sewer modeling, ACOE Nationwide Permits, and storm-water management (SWMP) reports.
Responsible for project management and coordination from inception through completion.
Interact with clients and project design team members.
Business development, marketing, and networking.
Perform field data collections with various UAS platforms, and perform in-house processing.
Qualifications and Skills
B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent degree
Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with land / site development projects or public works / infrastructure projects.
Experience with UAS (drones) preferred but not required.
The candidate should also have project management experience requiring little oversight, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prepare technical reports and calculations (i.e., hydrology/hydraulics, SWPPP, and water & sewer).
Must have broad knowledge of Hydrology/Hydraulic Analysis, design methods and water quality low impact development applications.
Extensive knowledge of municipal, state, and federal design criteria and practices is preferred
Quality control checking experience a plus
Successful candidates will have well-developed problem solving, decision-making, communication and team building skills.
Extensive experience in Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Hydraflow, MS Word, Excel. Experience with Bentley SiteOps a plus.
Experience in developing Virtual Reality (VR) Models preferred but not required
HEC-RAS floodplain modeling preferred but not required.
Experience in business development and networking.
Background checks are required by certain clients of WCE. Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check prior to employment.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00am- 5:00pm with flexible work schedule
Salary: $80,000.00 to $101,500.00 /year (depending on experience)
Compensation for securing new clients/contracts
Telecommuting is allowed.
