The Section of Genetics and Child Development at Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks a part-time Clinical Geneticist to join its faculty.
CHaD is the pediatric service of Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H), an integrated academic healthcare delivery system for northern New England, anchored in Lebanon, New Hampshire at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC).
Our Clinical Genetics program consists of one physician and three genetic counselors providing a full range of services at D-H locations in New Hampshire. Candidates should be board certified or eligible in clinical genetics, with experience in dysmorphology, and should expect to participate in general outpatient genetic clinics. Experience with metabolic diseases preferred, but not required.
This position will expand the team by 0.5 FTE and will be based primarily in our Manchester, NH location. Inpatient consultations and call at DHMC will typically only be required when vacation coverage is needed.
Teaching residents and medical students is expected, so eligibility for academic appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine is required, at a rank commensurate with experience and academic portfolio. Opportunities for clinical, translational, and health services research exist for the interested candidate.
DHMC has both a cytogenetic laboratory and a comprehensive molecular genetics diagnostic laboratory. There is strong collaboration between the Clinical Genetics program and the Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists in the Prenatal Diagnostics Center and the Familial Cancer Center.
D-H provides a rare opportunity to combine high-level academic medicine with a serene and stress-free living environment. Lebanon is part of the Upper Connecticut River Valley, home to Dartmouth College and its abundant cultural and enrichment activities. Greater Manchester is often ranked among the best small cities in the United States for quality of life. With destinations like Boston, New York, Montreal, the seacoast and ski country within driving distance, this is the ideal place to work where others play.
