The Quality Manager has the responsibility of Production Quality oversight for the process areas including but not limited to; receiving inspection, welding, marking, machine shop, in-process assembly, final inspection, and Quality Engineering. Able to effect employee reviews, goals, objectives, and results for effectiveness and competency. Establish monthly Key Process Indicators and publish 1st pass yields and trends. Monitor supplier performance and coordinate returns, rework, and improvement plans. Chair Material Review Board to ensure timely dispositions of defective material, oversee root cause analysis, issue corrective actions, and monitor results.
Manages daily reports for all functional areas, including punctuality, absence, and general timekeeping.
Documents annual performance reviews and establishes goals, objectives, and progressive paths for advancement.
Chairs, records and actions weekly MRB process, and ad hoc MRB needs, as needed
Suggests and manifests preventive actions for all process gates and yield loss.
Establishes goals for, and reduces scrap with cross-functional teaming and Manufacturing Engineering.
Functions as Quality representative in the product development process and realization efforts. Coordinates with Engineering Design and Validation teams to ensure defined product, customer, and quality requirements are in place, and verified-to.
Owner of new supplier development, and supplier quality maintenance efforts and procedures. Reports key supplier performance quarterly, and manages corrective action processes with suppliers falling out of compliance
Manages end item daily final inspection and resolves contract departures and concession releases.
Ensures daily conflicts for acceptance and release are balanced for revenue targets and customer satisfaction.
Supports and maintains all QMS requirements for AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulatory and safety agencies.
Monitors and maintains Quality Records, Calibration recall, and MRB activity.
Ensures contract Quality requirements are completed, including delegation, source inspection, and first article.
Ensures end item inspection is accomplished and delegation programs are adhered to.
Develops control plans per AS9103.
Coordinates all training and records evidence for department staff.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 10 years Quality experience in an Aerospace/Defense manufacturing environment, with 5 years as a development Quality Manager and 3 years as a Manager preferred.
Strong Quality technical competencies and demonstrated leadership competencies is required with a strong sense of personal accountability.
History of product development support and production-transition definition and compliance.
Ability to translate Quality strategies, programs and solutions into a business case that represents ROI on people and programs to the business.
Ability to drive and manage your responsibilities with a solutions orientation working style.
Possess excellent project management skills including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through completion.
Working knowledge of budgets and capital expenditures.
Ability to design practical solutions where no precedent may exist.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Knowledge of ITAR and Defense Department regulations a plus (FAR/DAR).
Strong knowledge of products, processes, and industry in order to make solid judgments.
Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Visual acuity required for visual inspection attributes.
Knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO9000 requirements for traceability and record archives.
Excellent computer skills (e.g. Excel and Word).
Able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English and interface with all departments effectively.
Strong organizational skills.
Must be a local candidate.
