Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design experiments and prepare experimental samples.
• Collect data by gas chromatography / mass spectrometry.
• Analyze data with dedicated metabolic flux analysis software.
• Draft manuscripts.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ph.D. in plant biology, plant biochemistry, chemical engineering or closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge in plant metabolism and molecular, genetic and biochemical characterizations of genes and pathways.
• Manuscript writing and demonstrated track record of publication of research in high quality peer-reviewed journals and presentations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based research environment.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

 Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge and experience in isotope tracer based metabolic flux analysis.
• Strong bioinformatics and programming skills (MatLab, python).
• Knowledge in systems biology.
• Standard molecular biology techniques and experience such as DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, quantitative PCR, RNAseq, protein expression and purification in E. coli, protein extraction and analysis with western blot and gel electrophoresis of DNA, RNA and protein.
• Standard molecular cloning skills and genetic transformation of Arabidopsis thaliana.
