Water Resources Supervisor

Water Resources Supervisor $5,879.00, monthly, plus benefits There is one position with Yakima County Public Services Department, Water Resources Division. This position is responsible for overseeing, managing, supervising and making decisions within the Flood Control and Stormwater Sections of the Water Resources Management Division. Programs include flood hazard reduction, basin planning, watershed plan, ESA recovery, County and Regional stormwater management programs and other water resources programs as required. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Water Resource Planning, Engineering, Biology, Natural Resources Management, Fluvial Sciences, Geography, Environmental Sciences or a field related to the Section assignment and Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in local government water resources, flood control, land use, environmental and/or comprehensive planning, including two (2) years in a supervisory and managerial capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the advanced level of knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. A Masters’ Degree may substitute for one year of experience. Required: Possession of a valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of insurance if requested. Experience with Washington State land use and environmental protection law; Additional degrees, professional certifications, recognition, awards and licenses that demonstrate acquisition and application of the required knowledge, and abilities to be successful in this position.
