This position is the intermediate level position (up to 4 years of experience) for experienced engineering interns, newly licensed professional engineers or masters level engineering graduates seeking to further develop of professional consulting and design capabilities with an increased emphasis on direct client contact and service, permitting endeavors, management, and interdisciplinary technical expertise. Individuals in this position are expected to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications of standard operating practices to fulfill project, client, and company objectives. This position requires general fulfillment of the typical duties and responsibilities outlined in the Civil Engineer I and II position descriptions or graduate level educational experience.
Execute project assignments accurately, on-time and within budget
Complete project reports and engineering calculations
Develop and produce conceptual, preliminary, and final construction design drawings
Assist with preparation of construction plans, detail drawings, and project specifications
Review construction plans, performing horizontal and vertical roadway alignment calculations, and utility research and coordination
Provide oversight on various construction projects and work with construction inspectors
Perform quantity calculations and complete engineering cost opinions
Recognize problems quickly and independently resolve problems seeking advice as needed from more experienced engineers, managers, or technical support personnel when unusual situations without precedents are encountered
Prepares articulate, coherent, grammatically correct written project communication and documentation, correspondence, reports, applications, memorandums, and other miscellaneous documents
Maintains contact with all internal project team members during the project
Maintains a positive attitude towards associates, the company and maintain a willingness to work with and for others regardless of position or status within the company hierarchy
Maintain flexibility in all aspects of service to the company and clients
Maintain high levels of professionalism by presenting a good image to clients, community and fellow employees
Assists in the development of technical skills of team members
Ensures and monitors the use of and participates in the development of company design and production standards
Must have a sense of urgency to complete projects within deadlines and within budget
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCADD 3D, ICPR, WaterCAD, and StormCAD
Experience in technical writing of deliverables including work plans, quality program documents, engineering reports, and project correspondence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to maintain integrity and professionalism with clients, community, and fellow employees
Ability to adapt to encountered obstacles to meet project objectives on time and on budget
Supervisory Responsibilities: Occasionally
Position Type & Hours: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)
Travel: Up to 10% (Locally, between offices or to a client site)

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
4 years of experience in Civil engineering
Registered Professional Engineer or engineer-in-training (able to obtain P.E. license in the State of Florida within 2 years)
