The School of Business of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile, is hiring two faculty members in the field of Business Analytics (Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or related) at the Assistant or Associate level to begin in early 2022. One of these positions is for a faculty member in the research track, and the other is for a faculty member in the teaching track.
Successful candidates are expected to teach professional, graduate and undergraduate courses in our MBA, undergraduate and doctoral programs, and supervise doctoral and master students.
Candidates in the research track are expected to conduct high quality research in collaboration with industry and government, publish in top-tier journals, and participate in outreach activities. The teaching load for our research-oriented faculty is two-to-four semester courses per year, depending on productivity, as per a point-based system. Applicants must hold a PhD in Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Management, Operations Research, or a related discipline prior to the date of appointment. Candidates must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and an interest in learning Spanish.
Candidates in the teaching track are expected to teach eight semester courses per year. Leadership and outreach activities are counted as courses, as per a point-based system. Teaching faculty can also apply to receive up to two additional course reduction for research activities. Applicants must hold a master’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Management, Operations Research, or a related discipline prior to the date of appointment. Candidates must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish.
Excellence and strong motivation in teaching are essential for both positions, as well as an aptitude for teamwork, and a scholarly interest in high quality business education. Relevant industry experience and a strong publication record are a plus.
Priority will be given to applications received by January 21, 2022; however, applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The starting date for this position is negotiable, and could be as early as March 2022.

Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI) is a prestigious private university in Chile. It was founded initially as a School of Business in 1953 and became a full university in 1989. At present it has 11,500 students (75% undergraduate) and 370 full time faculty.
