Department Summary The Lundquist College of Business (LCB) is one of seven schools housing academic programs on the University of Oregon campus. The college works cooperatively with other UO Colleges and Schools to prepare students for a broad range of career paths. There are approximately 1,200 undergraduate majors, 2,250 pre-business majors, 1200 undergraduate minors, 170 master's students and 36 doctoral students.
Located 110 miles south of Portland, the University of Oregon has an enrollment of 23,000. The Eugene metro area (pop. 351,715) is in a region noted for its dynamic quality of life and progressive cultural environment. We are about an hour's drive from the Pacific coast and the Cascade Mountains. The University is an AAU research institution and a member of the Pac-12 conference.
The Department of Management is seeking to fill two faculty positions at the Instructor level. Employment begins September 16, 2022. Employment is continuous and summer appointments may be available.

Position Summary Responsibilities for this position include teaching primarily core business classes and pre-business fundamental courses, which may include a broad survey course and initial professional development courses. The upper-division teaching may include courses in leadership, written and oral communication, business law and ethics, negotiation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and/or global perspectives. The position may involve advising students, participating in committee membership, and other assignments. This position reports to the head of the Department of Management.
Typical responsibilities for this position(s) include: 1. Teaching up to eight (8) courses at the undergraduate level (0.80 FTE); course load may be adjusted based on additional duties as negotiated with the Department Head and Senior Associate Dean. 2. Engaging in service (.10 FTE) - activities could include department, college, or university roles or committees and/or responsibilities in recognized professional organizations 3. Investing in professional development (.10 FTE) related to teaching and service, such as conference attendance, local and regional teaching development workshops, and staying current in the applicant's field 4. Communicating with students during office hours regarding course-related activities
Masters degree in management or related field AND prior academic experience.
Candidates must demonstrate interest, experience and/or ability to promote cultural competency and/or diversity.
Strong pedagogical background and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Extensive experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
