Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is seeking a dedicated, driven professional to lead the design, implementation and management of an optimized and reliable overarching data architecture for SVCE’s business functions to support achieving our decarbonization mission. The Decarbonization Data Engineer (Engineer) will work within the Decarbonization Policy & Programs (DPP) team to design, implement and manage an optimized and reliable overarching data architecture in collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.
The Engineer will develop and maintain the infrastructure required for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources (ETL) and will collaborate with other groups in the DPP team and across other teams (Power Resources, Energy Services & Community Relations, Finance & Administration) within the organization. In addition, the Engineer will identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
The Engineer will build processes, support data transformation and collaborate across the organization to communicate these strategies to the SVCE team. Specifically, the Engineer will function as a subject matter expert and be the strategic lead for identifying and evaluating opportunities to leverage SVCEs data.
Qualifications and Experience
Any combination of experience and training equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible experience as a data engineer or similar role at an electric utility, cleantech company, or similar organization.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related, quantitative field. A Master’s Degree in the aforementioned fields can substitute for up to one year of the required experience. A Doctoral Degree in the aforementioned fields can substitute for up to three years of the required experience.
Compensation
The salary range for the position is $110,597 - $158,446 annually, depending on qualifications and depth of experience.
