Monahan Filaments is a leading producer of synthetic monofilaments engineered for application solutions in a variety of markets including industrial, agricultural, household, beauty and oral care. 

Primary responsibility of the position is to provide technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing group through a hands-on learning/training approach.  Additionally, to improve existing processes, develop new and cost effective manufacturing concepts, as well as educate production operators, mentor process technicians and engage maintenance/tool room personnel in resolving all issues discovered in the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate will possess:  Good mechanical aptitude for process optimization and calibrations; Knowledgeable of properties of engineering thermoplastics; Good communication skills, technical report writing skills; Motivated, team player, provides excellent customer support; Safety consciousness throughout all aspects of position, including equipment design and modifications; Ability to think through complex processes; Process-oriented individual with strong experience in process standardization and implementing SPC.

 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support production management system including production related matters involving day to day trouble shooting.

2. Monitor process equipment to identify potential errors and develop solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.

3. Ensure solutions focus on reducing downtime, conserve maintenance costs, maintain or increase production levels while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety.

4. Compliance and audits to support root cause analysis for corrective action.

5. Design testing for products and raw materials to ensure quality is maintained.

6. Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance
