This position completes analysis and reviews to support the District in operational and strategic matters related to energy marketing settlement activities in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) and any other energy markets. This position has primary responsibility for activities related to energy market settlements, including the establishment and maintenance of processes to ensure timely, effective, accurate reviews of market settlement and related transactions, and the timely filing and follow-through until resolution of any settlement disputes/billing issues. This position works collaboratively with and in support of others throughout the District in the completion of these responsibilities, including the Energy Marketing Strategies Team, Financial Services Business Unit, Enterprise Technology Business Unit, Southwest Power Pool representatives, and TEA representatives.
This position completes analysis and reviews to support the District in operational and strategic matters related to energy settlement activities in SPP. This position completes various data analytics and the calculation and/or review of various financial and operational metrics and costs to support effective decision-making and performance assessment for Energy Marketing settlement activities in SPP and any other energy markets.
This position has primary responsibility for financial activities related to energy market settlements, including the establishment and maintenance of processes and controls to ensure timely, effective, accurate reviews of market settlement and related transactions, and the timely filing and follow-through until resolution of any settlement dispute/billing issues. This position ensures all settlement and billing processes are conducted under the necessary control objectives. This position also assists in the testing and implementation of current and future energy market settlement software functionality.
This position provides insights and information for forecasts and budgets, including impacts from expected changes due to various factors including changes in market conditions, members, energy sources, loads, protocols, FERC orders, etc. This role will partner with other members in the Financial Services Business Unit to support analysis of financial data and performance measures, trend analysis, forecasts, and the monitoring of key financial metrics throughout the budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes. This position prepares related management reports and financial information for presentations.
This position works collaboratively with others in the completion of position responsibilities, including the Energy Marketing Strategies Team, Financial Services Business Unit, Enterprise Technology Business Unit, Southwest Power Pool representatives, and TEA representatives. This position will participate in SPP working groups, task forces and user groups, as assigned, to keep current with standards, technology and settlement changes. This position may also participate in special projects of the District, as assigned. Projects may include but are not limited to: corporate strategic initiative project teams, testing system upgrades or enhancements, conducting financial analysis and developing ad hoc reports and other process improvement initiatives.
This position may cross-train on certain other duties/responsibilities to provide back-up support, as needed.
