General Statement of Duties:
Performs engineering work related to infrastructure maintenance and capital improvement plans for the Highway Division.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains the Asset Management Program, including infrastructure maintenance and capital planning.
Conducts field work, prepares contract plans, specifications, and cost estimates for construction of capital improvement and highway maintenance projects.
Coordinates with other DPW divisions and consultants on the implementation of Highway projects such as traffic signal installation, sidewalk installation and repairs, paving, and other capital and maintenance projects.
Tracks budgets for various capital projects, orders supply and parts, and reviews invoices for accuracy prior to approval.
Reviews drawings and specifications of Town infrastructure. Assists with inventory of Highway assets equipment.
Complies with all DPW safety program requirements in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree. One (1) one year of engineering experience providing engineering support to a highway or roadway maintenance and/or infrastructure capital program. Public sector experience preferred.
