The City of Lake Jackson is 21 square miles of lush landscape and natural beauty alluding to its name, “The City of Enchantment.” The City is located about 50 miles south of Houston, and 12 miles from the Gulf Coast. With 27,879 residents in 18 square miles, Lake Jackson offers the amenities of a large city, while maintaining a small-town feel. The Engineering Department provides project management and engineering support services for Public Works and other City departments. The Department is also responsible for the construction management of various (CIP) Capital Improvement Plan projects.
