The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a faculty position at the Associate Professor level in Business Analytics/Supply Chain Management starting Fall 2023.
The School provides an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment for inter-disciplinary scholarly contributions with support for research, teaching, and service. We are seeking individuals who are interested in working in such a diverse and inclusive environment.
About Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI): Rensselaer is ranked among the top 50 national universities and is a Carnegie I research institution. The Lally school offers undergraduate, masters, MBA and Ph.D. programs in several analytics related disciplines and the school is expecting to grow significantly in deep analytics offerings in marketing, supply chain and operations, quantitative finance, and information systems, to name a few. Approximately 350 undergraduate students, 120 MBA/MS students and 20 Ph.D. students are currently enrolled in the school of Management. The Lally School of Management is AACSB-accredited. Candidates must have a Ph.D degree in Analytics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field. Candidate must present evidence of effective teaching, and possess a national or international record of academic, scholarly and/or research recognition, as typically achieved through five (5) or more years in a tenure track position.
Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and Blockchain and in topics relevant to global shifts in supply chains would be a plus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with and develop research initiatives aligned both within the Lally School and with the new strategic research initiatives at Rensselaer.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated evidence for excellence in research and high-quality business journal publications. Skills in program development and other leadership roles would be a plus. The candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate degree programs in supply chain and business analytics, as well as provide service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer.
The position requires excellence in research in the area of supply chain and analytics, effective written communication skills, and strong technical skills in areas such as analytical modeling, data management, machine learning and computation.
