The Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) at Bentley University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer position for Academic Year 2023-24 starting on July 1, 2023.
The CIS department offers an undergraduate major, several minors, and provides courses that support other programs at Bentley, including the general business core, the information systems audit and control major, the data analytics major, the graduate analytics core, and the dual MBA cores. The main teaching areas include introduction to computing concepts, Excel, programming languages (currently Java, Python, and JavaScript), application development, data and database management, computing and communication infrastructure, business process management, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, managing data with analytics, and value chain design. The department is also developing its teaching capabilities further in data analytics, applied machine learning, applied artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and business intelligence.
The successful candidate is an organized and creative teacher who can excel at teaching one or more of the department’s undergraduate courses. A qualified candidate should have an excellent record of teaching skills and accomplishments appropriate for the candidate's level of experience. Candidates that can bring career experience to share with their students in addition to their demonstrated excellence in teaching are given extra consideration. A typical teaching load for a lecturer is four sections per semester.

A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, Business Analytics, or a closely related field.
