The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a planner who is community-focused to work extensively with the community in the development of a safer, move connected multimodal community.  The Planner III position will work within the Transportation & Mobility Department and play a key role in advancing the City's transportation vision of having a Connected Community where the Pedestrian is First.  

This position will work with many stakeholders both internal and external to accomplish the City's vision.  This will include listening and advocating regularly on transportation items that impact the City.  The position conducts studies, manages consultants, develops grant applications, and frequently attends and leads meetings with the public.  

The key work program over the next several years will be managing the update to the City's Vision Zero Plan and developing the implementation program for the Sidewalks Master Plan. 

Minimum Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in urban and regional planning, geography, public policy, architecture, or other field closely related to urban planning.

- Three or more years of professional experience in transportation planning or an area which includes a broad range of planning, program planning and policy development

- This position requires a flexible schedule including attendance at public meetings which commonly occur during evening hours.
